http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Cooperation in electricity area discussed [The Source: SANA'A\Hadhramaut\Saba - Monday -23/JUNE/2014] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Electricity Abdullah al-Akwa has met with Chinese ambassador to Yemen Chang Hua and discussed sides of cooperation in electricity area. The two officials reviewed possibility of supporting Yemen economically during its transition process, stressing the significance to activate the future directions of the ministry in cooperation with the Chinese side in the construction of power stations as it is one of the most important priorities of the ministry for the coming period. From the other hand, al-Akwa met with the South Korean Ambassador to Yemen Lee Young-ho and reviewed with him possibilities of activating the bilateral cooperation relations, particularly in fields of training and rehabilitation of the ministry's technicians and engineers. Their meeting also dealt with the means of helping Yemen to strengthen its capacity for generating electricity to meet the large deficit faced by the electrical system in order to meet the increasing demand of the actual requirement of electric power. Meanwhile the Premier meeting with head of the European Union Mission to Yemen Bettina Muchyt reviewed enhancing the mutual cooperation between Yemen and the EU in the economic area. The minister valued in those meetings the keenness of the Chinese and Korean governments and the EU as well in propping up the transition process in Yemen and assisting it in facing its economic and development challenges. For their parts, the senior officials renewed their support to the political process in Yemen and their contribution in boosting the development and economic directions in the country, including supporting projects related to cover the needs of electric power.
