http://www.english.hadhramaut.info OIC member states renew their strong support to Yemen [The Source: JEDDAH\Hadhramaut\Saba - Friday -20/JUNE/2014] Foreign Ministers Council of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states renewed on Friday their countries’ strong commitment to sand by Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and independence. At the conclusion of its 41st session held in the Saudi City of Jeddah, the Council issued an importance decision on the solidarity with Yemen, in which it announced the member states' support to the efforts of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the national reconciliation government aiming to achieve the security and the political and economic stability in Yemen based on the GCC-brokered initiative and its executive mechanism.

The Council called for a halt to all acts that hamper the success of the Gulf initiative, stressing at the same time the importance of supporting the decisions and the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue (NDC), which was successfully concluded in January 2014.

The foreign ministers of the Islamic countries welcomed the results of the donors' conference on Yemen recently held in London, calling in this regard the OIC member states to provide support and assistance to the Yemeni government to enable it to face the political, security, economic and humanitarian challenges.

The Council urged the Group of Friends of Yemen, donors and the international community to continue to provide their aid to Yemen in all political ,economic and humanitarian areas, calling on the donor countries and organizations to fulfill their pledges made in support of Yemen.

Moreover, the Council confirmed its full support to Yemen in combating the terrorism acts that threaten the peace and security in the country, including the latest campaign carried out by the armed forces against al-Qaeda in the provinces of Abyan and Shabwa.

The Council reiterated the condemnation of the terrorist attack on the Defense Ministry hospital, which killed dozens of innocent Yemeni citizens and foreigners, as well as the terrorist attack on the Central Prison in Sana’a and the other terrorist acts witnessed by Yemen.
