http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemeni participates in anti-sexual violence summit in UK [The Source: LONDON\Hadhramaut\Saba - Friday -13/JUNE/2014] Yemen has participated in the activities of the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence In Conflicts taking place here with a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Al-Aidrous. In the summit, which is participated by 138 countries, Yemen has participated in the adoption of a commitment announcing end to sexual violence in conflicts. The commitment was made on the sidelines of UN General Assembly's activities in New York in 2013. The summit aims at coordinating efforts of governments, donors, the United Nations and Civil Society Organizations to fight rape during conflicts, as well as defining practical measures to improve capabilities of documenting violence during disputes and investigating the registered cases. On the other hand, al-Aidrous met on the sideline of the summit with UK Secretary of State for International Development Alan Duncan and Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East and North Africa Affairs Hugh Robertson separately and discussed with them development of the political process in Yemen and necessary support to the president to realize security, stability and economic reforms. The two ministers confirmed the continuation of UK support to President Hadi's efforts and the decrees he issues to implement the remaining steps of the GCC Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism.
