http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Urgent steps to tackle flood problems in Hadhramaut [The Source: www.hadhramaut.info - 25/1/2009] Hadramout Governor Salim Ahmed Al-khanbashi chaired a meeting today to   address  the damages caused by recent rains and floods in parts of the province during the last two days. This meeting came out with taking a number of swift and urgent actions and to identify the efforts made by the various service facilities and institutions  to ensure access to basic services for citizens without interruption. In the meantime ,many ideas and suggestions were discussed to develop ideas to address the effects of any possible damage during the coming days, the impact of the continuing flow of rainfall and floods, and urgent reform of the roads damaged by floods and the removal of dust and debris from the main streets, drainage and treatment of ponds and lakes of water  left by the rain and spraying insecticide to avoid the spread of environmental diseases among citizens.
