http://www.english.hadhramaut.info NAM urges international commitment to back Yemen's unity, sovereignty [The Source: ALGIERS\Hadhramaut\Saba - Friday -30/May/2014] The 17th Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has stressed the necessity for commitment of the international community to support Yemen's unity and sovereignty within the framework of the positive role played by the Friends of Yemen Group. The meeting praised Yemen's efforts to eradicate terrorism and extremism which pose threats to the regional and international security and stability, while urging to provide necessary support to the country's counterterrorism efforts. The final statement of the conference pointed to the success of Yemen in implementing the Gulf initiative for peaceful power transition and urged to back the efforts of the power-sharing government to finalize the implementation of the transition deal including the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialog conference. The statement stressed the importance to deepen cooperation between the Movement's members and preserve its principles including those aimed at resolving disputes through peaceful approaches. It put the spotlight on the Movement's efforts in fighting terrorism and called for improving the organizational structure of the United Nations.
