In the cable, President Hadi expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to President of Turkey and through him to the families of victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded in the explosion. An explosion and fire took place on Tuesday at the coal mine in the province of Manisa, western Turkey, killing about 282 miners and leaving dozens trapped underground. Turkish government said that 787 people were inside the coal mine at the time of Tuesday's explosion and 363 were rescued, including scores who were injured.
