The official said that the armed forces killed have killed "Taimor Dagestani", a terrorist explosive expert in Shabwa province. He also revealed that the security services in Hadramout province arrested on Thursday two members of al-Qaeda, Frenchmen of Tunisian origin, "Murad Abdullah Abbad" and "Taha al-Issawi". They have been arrested as trying to escape in an airport, the official added. Many officials confirmed the existence of a number of foreigners among the leaders and militants of al-Qaeda in Yemen. President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi stressed that the 70% of al-Qaeda members are foreigners. The Defense Ministry announced the killing of many non-Yemeni al-Qaeda members in the major offensive launched by the Armed and security forces since Tuesday, April 29. The Ministry has reported the killing of lots of foreigners; some were leaders, including Abu Mosab al-Kuwaiti "Kuwait", Abu Islam al-Shaishani, "Chechen" and Abu Muslim al-Uzbeki "Uzbekistan" in addition to six others from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During 11-day long fighting, the armed and security forces backed by members of allied tribal fighters (popular committees) have achieved great victories against al-Qaeda. They seized a string of al-Qaida strongholds in Abyan and Shabwa provinces and killed or arrested dozens of al-Qaeda militants.
