In a statement issued Wednesday and aired by the official Emirates News Agency (WAM), the Ministry praised the efforts made by the Yemeni authorities to secure the headquarters of the UAE's mission and its diplomatic crew in Sana'a. On Wednesday, Yemeni Interior Ministry announced, in a press conference in Sana'a, arresting of a criminal gang - which it said - had planned to abduct charge d'affaires of the UAE embassy in Sana'a late last March. An official source at the Interior Ministry revealed that the security services have rounded up a six-member cell of al-Qaida, while trying to kidnap the UAE chargé d'affaires in Sana'a.
