http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Medical wastes management workshop held in Lahj [The Source: www.sabanews.net - 21/1/2009] A special training workshop on medical wastes management was held on Tuesday in Lahj province and organized by the Public Authority for Environmental Protection in Aden in coordination with Ministry of Public Health and Population and World Health Organization (WHO).
35 participants from the Public Health Office, Ibn Khaldon Hospital, Clean Fund, and the Public Authority for Environmental Protection participated in the workshop which comes within the frame of implementing a typical project in the Public Hosipital of Ibn Khaldon and aims to introduce the international wastes related to managing the medical care, its hazards, and ways of protection after incidents.
The participants also get acquainted with the minimum safe management of the medical wastes through watching a film on this regard and applying practically in the targeted hospital as well as the process of distributing, separating the tools of gathering the hazardous medical wastes in the medical care departments.
Some speeches were delivered during the workshop by some officials in the province and public health office, pointing to the workshop's significance for managing the medical wastes and the ways of disposal them as they have a dangerous effect on the environment and cause diseases.
