http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Hadramout undersecretary meets TIKA delegation [The Source: HADRAMOUT \Hadhramaut\Saba - Thursday -17/April/2014] Hadramout undersecretary for Wadi and Desert Affairs Salem al-Menhali met here on Thursday with a delegation of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) headed by Faruk Bozgoz. During the meeting, al-Menhali briefed the delegation on the natural and human resource components in Hadramout's Wadi which as he said represents a promising and important food basket from agricultural products for the local market. He indicated to the efforts made by the government to provide the required needs to the Wadi to grow agricultural products, pointing out that the Wadi produces from 80 - 100 tons of cereals yearly, besides its production of vegetables. Al-Menhali urged TIKA to support farmers to use modern techniques of irrigation and adopt alternative energy sources to pump water from wells.
