http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Three-party talks discuss Yemen’s priorities in Washington [The Source: WASHINGTON\Hadhramaut\Saba - Monday -14/April/2014] Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the United States on Monday held talks at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington. The three-party talks were chaired by the Planning and International Cooperation Minister Mohammed al-Saadi, Finance Minister Sakhar al-Wajih, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Finance Sulaiman al-Turki and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Middle East and Africa Andrew Baukol.

The talks attended by representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were devoted to discuss development and economic fields that are prioritized by the Yemeni interim government.

They also reviewed ways of beefing up Yemen’s transitional stage and continuity of economic reforms according to outcomes and pledges of Yemen Friend Group’s meetings.

They further dealt with ongoing preparations to hold the upcoming Yemen Friend Group’s meeting in London in late April.

The Yemeni ministers expressed the hope that Yemen’s partners will address the current economic and development challenges and continue supporting projects that target the most impoverished Yemenis and unemployment.

Al-Saadi affirmed that the interim government is currently working to translate the National Dialogue Conference’s dialogues into actions, pointing out that a committee has been recently formed to draft a new constitution and that a new electoral register is being prepared.
