http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Yemen-US military talks conclude in Washington [The Source: WASHINGTON\Hadhramaut\Saba - Thursday -10/April/2014] The second session of the annual Yemen-US military talks concluded on Thursday in at headquarters of the US Defense Department in Washington. The talks session was co-chaired by the Army's Chief of General Staff, Gen. Ahmed Ali al-Ashwal, and US Director for Strategic Plans and Policy (J-5) of Joint Staff Frank Craig Pandolfe. During the talks, al-Ashwal reviewed strategic plans and procedures aiming at completing stages of restructuring of Yemen’s armed forces and developing the military units and training programs in order to protect the political transition and maintain Yemen's stability, security and unity. He underlined the army's role in maintaining stability and security amid the security challenges facing Yemen currently as the country goes through a power transition process. For his part, the US officials reviewed the technical support and a list of modern military equipment which is expected to be delivered to the Yemeni army.
