Cabinet approves matrix to implement NDC’s outcomes

The Cabinet approved in its weekly meeting on Thursday the executive matrix of the ministerial activities and procedures to implement the National dialogue Conference (NDC)’s outcomes.
The Cabinet delegated the Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basindwa to raise the government’s general plan for the implementation of the NDC’s outcomes to the President for approval.
In its meeting, the Cabinet also approved the executive procedures and the draft resolutions on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2140 for 2014 and the relevant decisions, presented by the Secretary General of the Cabinet.
The Cabinet approved ,within the framework of the executive procedures for national dialogue conference, a draft law on the abolition of all the sentences against southern leaders.
The Cabinet agreed to complete the procedures for the ratification of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention to Combat Transnational Organized Crime, which was ratified by our country by the Republican Decree No. 17 for 2007.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the completion of procedures for the ratification of the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture, ratified by our country in the year 1991, based on a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Human Rights.
The ratification of the Protocol came on the basis of the recommendations contained in the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Human Rights in 2009 and issued by the Human Rights Council.
