http://www.english.hadhramaut.info Hadi: Despite demands to stop meddling in Yemen, Iran still does [The Source: LONDON\Hadhramaut\Saba - Tuesday -01/April/2014]  President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi said on Tuesday that Iran is still meddling in Yemen's internal affairs. "Unfortunately, Iran still interferes in Yemen, whether by supporting southern separatists or some religious groups northern Yemen," Hadi said in an interview with the London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat issued on Monday. Hadi said that Yemen has demanded Iranians to revise its wrong policy towards Yemen, but the demands have not borne fruit. "We have no desire to escalate (the situation) with Tehran, but at the same time we hope it will lift its hand off Yemen," he said. He accentuated that Yemen has nearly restored a lot of its security and stability, adding "that does not mean risk has totally ended. Armed groups, especially those are supported from external sides, still make a threat against Yemen's stability." Any party has weapons must realize that they will never be stronger than the State, even if they thought it is weak, Hadi said, stressing "Yemen can be patient, exercises caution and avoids using force since the victims from any party will be Yemenis." The President referred to the presidential committees sent recently to mediate in conflicts taken place in some governorates. "We adopted this approach to avoid any confrontations, and to confirm that the State - in its new era - prefers to resort to dialogue and obviates bloodshed in handling any problem, but at the same time we assert that the State will not abandon its role in underpinning security, stability and peace appropriately." He urged the armed groups to surrender their heavy weapons to the State and join the Yemen people, who chose dialogue, peace and a modern civil state. The President denied that al-Qaeda has succeeded in breaching security services, which he said are recovering gradually. He called the Yemenis to understand the country's need to drone strikes that "have greatly helped in limiting al-Qaeda activities, despite some mistakes which we are sorry about." He said that using traditional warplanes against al-Qaeda terrorists could cause much bigger loss. In the interview, the President also called the Yemenis who have problems with the former regime and living abroad to return to the country. "Now, there is nothing prevent them from returning home, whatever their leadership levels were. We hope to see everyone inside Yemen to take part in building its modern civil state."
