"Time passes and we still need to achieve the Gulf initiative's items, including the national dialogue, constitutional amendments and electoral system, as soon as possible and as scheduled," Hadi said during a meeting with Jordanian and European security experts alongside the Yemeni team charged with restructuring the Interior Ministry. The Interior Ministry's security services may be converted over the last decade from being the protector of security into the protector of the power and we want them to be at the citizens' service, he said. The restructure must end the conflict of responsibilities, a matter that always creates confusion and has not led to permanent security and stability so far, since Yemen has suffered from a conflict to another for fifty years, whether before the reunification or after. He underscored that the restructure should make the Interior Ministry works in a modern style with one lead, the Interior Minister, in addition to distributing security accountabilities in accordance with the hierarchy order. The President said that the use of the Jordanian and European expertise aim to benefit from their experience, avoid the shortcomings and rise the security sector, which is the cornerstone of the country's security, prosperity and development. Jordanian Interior Ministry delegation's head and capital's governor Sami Subsiding said that Jordanian team is at the Yemeni Interior Ministry's service and will provide its all experience to restructure the Ministry in modern way copes with the 21 century.
