Yemen calls on donors to accelerate financing of development projects

Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has confirmed that Yemen is exerting efforts for the success of the national dialogue conference.
In Yemen’s speech in the Academic Conference kicked off Friday in London under the title “Yemen and future challenges”, al-Qirbi pointed to achievements of President Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the national reconciliation government in the implementation of the GCC-brokered initiative steps, topped by the presidential elections, restructuring the army and the formation of the technical committee on preparation for the national dialogue.
For his part, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed Al Saadi called on donors and international institutions to accelerate financing the implementation of development projects in Yemen to create jobs and reduce poverty and improve the living conditions of the citizens.
He noted to the efforts made by Yemen in facing the development challenges and activating the mechanisms of allocation of funds provided by donors, so as to enhance the development paths in various fields.
The conference, organized by the Yemeni-British Friendship Association and the London Institute for Middle East Studies and the Mohammed bin Issa Al Jaber aimed to discuss over two days issues related to the future and the challenges faced by Yemen in various fields.
The conference dealt with visions on the Saada area and the issue of the South and the role of the private sector in the rural development, health and education.
On the sidelines of the conference, each of the Ministers met with British Minister of State for International Development (DFID) ,Alan Duncan, to discuss the ongoing preparations for the convening of the next Friends of Yemen conference.
