Yemen, UAE discuss cooperation in electricity field

Minister of Electricity Abdullah al-Akwa met on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi with the UAE's Minister of Development and International Cooperation Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi. The meeting dealt with areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways of enhancing them, especially in the field of electricity and energy.
Al-Akwa valued the UAE's efforts in support of Yemen during the current stage to overcome the crisis and build the state, affirming that Yemen needs further support from the UAE in the renewable energy area.
For her part, Sheikha Lubna confirmed the importance of Yemen for the UAE, expressing her country's readiness to cooperate in the field of energy.
On another hand, the minster al-Akwa met in Abu Dhabi with Mohammed al-Suwaidi, director general of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development.
In the meeting, al-Akwa hailed the Fund's support for the development projects in Yemen, especially in the renewable energy areas.
He pointed to the government's measures and the facilities afforded to citizens to utilize renewable energy projects
Al-Suwaidi confirmed the Fund's readiness to cooperate with Yemen in the renewable energy field.
